We had a birthday celebration, amazing fishing, great weather and why not win the Dorado Shootout Tournament on your birthday?
As air temps climbed to the low-90s, the hot and humid days kept both bait and fish boiling with water temps in the low-80s. Nice bull dorado were caught in the area along with tuna around the massive schools of porpoises found 15 to 22 miles of the Hotel Resort. Both striped marlin and sailfish chased a variety of lures, while roosterfish went after top surface lures and ballyhoo.
Can you say bonanza?
Brothers Charlie and Jim Lewis came up to fish with their favorite crew, Felipe Ruiz and Reggie. Striped marlin and roosterfish or pez gallo were targeted and the Bros. Lewis got it done big time. Congrats.
Many Bucardo, a well known local, landed a sailfish and a great dorado while trolling Rapalas. Bien hecho.
Valentin Castro, Captain of the Valentina, took his friend Robert out fishing while he was in town for a short visit. They hit it great with dorado in the 40-plus pound category while trolling Rapalas.
Arturo Ferrer, John and Arturito Ferrer Jr. fished aboard the Liliana with Capt. Marco Yepiz and Leo Torres as his 1st Mate. They released a beautiful sailfish, the first one ever for Arturito Jr. Great memories, amigos.
Abel and Daira Cota, Cristian Burgoin and friends were aboard Fish Mugger with Capt. Santiago Cota and Marco Yepiz. It was a welcome day off from work while fishing with friends and creating great memories.
Happy Birthday Esaul Valdez. He celebrated the event by participating in the Dorado Shootout and landing a beautiful bull of 57 pounds aboard La Buenavida with Capt. Julio Cota and Brian as his 1st Mate. Esaul teamed up with pals J. C., Tom Nunnally, and Javier T. Way to go and great memories for Esul’s 52nd birthday.
