Fishing Report 15/02/19
Afternoon winds up to 16kph and cooler water have hampered fishing efforts off
shore where there’s not been much of a bite as is typical for February although
locals are reporting daily caches of mostly white Bonita and a few Sierra.
The warm, sunny and calm mornings have however, been perfect for surf fishing,
wild life viewing and other Baja adventures..
Visitors T.J. Stender and Barney Brayton from Sheridan, Wyoming have been
having a blast fly fishing in the surf in front of the hotel. T.J. landed a nice Pargo
and had it specially prepared for them by the hotel dining staff.
Local surf fishing guide, Felipe Valdez has organized another private overnight
trip next week for a group of avid anglers to fish the coast north of La Paz. These
guys are excited as last trip produced some nice catches there including Snook
and a big Rooster.
Other recent visitors have enjoyed excursions contracted through the hotel that
include, off-road quad adventures to beautiful local waterfalls, whale watching,
with whale, dolphin and rays active on the surface this time of year, and also
hunting dove and pheasant, while in season with experienced local guide Esaul
