The Week of July 13-20
Hotel Buena Vista Beach Resort
We experienced excellent weather all week with warmer, billfish-attracting water offshore; slightly cooler water closer to shore.
Those seeking billfish found serious action offshore for sails, blues and striped marlin. The dorado, however, remained scarce. The grande roosterfish made up for the absence of dorado. There were not many wahoo and tuna, as most of our anglers couldn’t tear themselves away from the billfish and roosterfish action.
The Weiler family fished with Captain Ramon Tamayo aboard the 3 Hermanos and ended up releasing two striped marlin and landing a dorado. This was a first for 13-year-old Adam! Congratulations!
Team Dusty B II and Captain Carlos Castro are showing off with the grande gallos. Nathan Reyes landed this beautiful rooster weighing in right around 50 pounds.
Team Vagabundo with Captain Rosario “Chayo” Cota just released this nice blue marlin. Rick Stecher from Axtell, Texas, was very happy with his catch … as anyone would be.
