June 15-22, 2016
Hotel Buena Vista Beach Resort
June continues to be “bustin’ out all over” for guests under sunny skies with toasty temperatures approaching 90 degrees. In spite of a swing of sea surface temperatures from 84 down to 74 degree in a few spots, there is enough bait — caballito, chiwillly and frozen ballyhoo — to “get ‘er done.”
Offshore, inshore and in-between delivered enough action to satisfy all of our adventure seeking guests.
Ray Johnson and Melody Thomason, Morro Bay, found wahoo and tuna both great candidates for some of Chef Dahli De la Peña’s magic.
Dave Copeland, Texas, demonstrated that it isn’t over until it’s over by snaking out a nice afternoon rooster that he released for the next guest.
Garrett Uyeyama, San Francisco, cradles his own wahoo caught during his visit.
Benito and Michelle Romo, along with Rodolfo and Cynthia Santoscoy, purchased their trip at CCA back in Texas which was donated by the Resort to CCA for a fundraiser. They had a fun trip releasing multiple striped marlin!
Fishing on calm seas, guests found an enviable variety this week including dorado (largest weighing 25 pounds), striped marlin, sailfish, tuna, roosterfish, pompano, wahoo plus several amberjack weighing up to 25 pounds.
