Fish Report Sept.10, 2015

Marc here from Buena Vista Beach Resort, with the latest on the action here in the East Cape. After feeling the effects of the outer edges of Hurricane Linda over the past few days, we’re getting the boats back into the water and getting ready for this weekend’s charters. Linda brought us a lot of much needed rain to the area, but for the most part, spared us the wind. The local waters have cleared up amazingly fast and fishing has picked up where it left off before the storm.

The Sailfish bite remains hot, with multiple catch and releases to the North. Tuna have been in close, off La Ribera, with fish averaging 15-25 lbs. The inshore bite has been hot as well, with Amberjack, Pargo and even Yellowtail cooperating for our anglers. The bait situation has improved, with nice sized green backed Mackerel becoming available over the last few days. Reports have the conditions steadily improving thru the next 4-5 days, but there is a system developing far to the South of us, that we’re keeping an eye on. As we move into Fall, I’d like to remind everyone that this is typically the best time of the season here in the East Cape, with air and water temperatures cooling down, humidity backing off and Blue, Black and Striped Marin, Sailfish, Tuna, Wahoo and Dorado, producing great action for our clients. The Dorado bite is still slow in coming around, but hopefully, they’ll show up and join the party. Well, that’s about it for this report. We hope you’ll visit us at BVBR in the coming weeks, for what is in my opinion, the best time of the season here in the East Cape. Stay tuned for the next report on this weekend’s action. Until then…keep it tight!
